Charity Single ‘Lullaby’ Raises £70,000 in First Week for Palestine Relief Efforts

A powerful charity single released by British collective Together For Palestine (T4P) has raised £70,000 within its first week, with all proceeds dedicated to humanitarian work in Gaza and the West Bank.

The song, titled ‘Lullaby’, was released on December 12 and quickly gained attention for both its artistic depth and its humanitarian mission. Supporters were encouraged to stream the track and purchase it on digital platforms, with funds directed entirely toward relief organisations working on the ground.

Funds to Support Medical and Humanitarian Aid

According to T4P, all money raised from the song will be donated to Taawon, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and the Palestine Medical Relief Service. These organisations provide essential healthcare, emergency assistance, and community support to Palestinians affected by ongoing conflict.

Historic Chart Success in the UK

‘Lullaby’ made history by debuting at number five on the UK Singles Chart, marking the highest chart position ever achieved by an Arabic-language song in Britain. The release competed during a chart period largely dominated by seasonal music, making its performance even more significant.

A Global Artistic Collaboration

The track is a modern reimagining of the well-known Arabic resistance song ‘Yamma Mwel El Hawa’ (Mother, Sing to the Wind). It features an impressive lineup of international artists, including Brian Eno, Celeste, Dan Smith (Bastille), Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Mabel, Nadine Shah, Nai Barghouti, Neneh Cherry, and others, alongside the London Community Gospel Choir.

The Arabic lyrics draw inspiration from the poetry of Mahmoud Darwish, while the English verses were written by acclaimed musician Peter Gabriel. The single’s cover artwork was created by Gazan artist Malak Mattar, adding a deeply personal visual element to the project.

Music Video Highlights Daily Life and Resilience

The official music video, filmed in Gaza and Jerusalem, has surpassed 100,000 views on YouTube. It portrays scenes of everyday life — children playing, families spending time together, and moments of normalcy — set against the stark realities of destruction and displacement.

The visuals aim to highlight the resilience, dignity, and cultural identity of the Palestinian people rather than focusing solely on conflict.

Continuing Advocacy Through Art

Following their earlier London OVO Arena concert, which raised over $2 million for Palestinian causes, T4P continues to use music and art as a platform for global awareness and humanitarian fundraising.

The collective has also released footage from the November fundraiser, featuring performances and speeches by prominent artists, actors, journalists, and human rights advocates.
